On Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, the North Torrance Homeowners Association held their General Membership Meeting at North High School. The membership voted and approved the incorporation of the North East section of Torrance into our homeowners association. The name of the association was officially changed to North Torrance Homeowners Association. The Bylaws were also amended to offer the option of a lifetime membership fee at $100.00.

After general business was concluded the meeting was turned over to representatives from the Torrance Police Department. The topic for this evening was information relating to Neighbor Watch and Block Captains. Lt. Irvine and four of our local officers conducted a Q & A session relating to city issues involving the Torrance Police.
Several of the questions involved traffic and parking problems, gangs in the area, group houses, and the types of crimes committed in Torrance. At the end of the Q & A session the officers explained to the group that The City of Torrance is trying to expand The Neighborhood Watch Program. The group was encouraged to become involved in the program, and information and materials were provided.

The meeting was attended by approx. 100 people and was over around 8PM.
